WPPI Member of the month

As I am getting ready to go to Las Vegas on Wednesday for the yearly convention of photographers organized by WPPI (Wedding and Portrait Photographers International) I received their newsletter and learned that I have been chosen as the Member of the Month for March!!

I was sooooo exited to see this.

WPPI has been such a great influence in my professional career and I am thrilled to have been given this honor.

Silvia, Colombia - 2008

I have been a bit disconnected from the blog because I was away from home for a few weeks. This was a time for me to do one of the things that I enjoy the most in life which is traveling. I went to my native Ecuador for a few weeks to visit some friends and family and then a short trip to Colombia. In the next few weeks I will be sharing some photos from this trip.

I am still in the process of reviewing all the photos, but wanted to start by showing some photos from the town of Silvia in Colombia. Every Tuesday the Guambiano indians gather in this town for market day. This is when they buy and sell the products that they produce up in the mountains (potatoes, onions, corn and more)… here are a few photos from that day.
